Frequently asked questions

When should I register?

As early as you can, preferably before 16 weeks of pregnancy. Registering early is especially wise for a summer due date.

Go to registration
My week is full. Will I get no kraamzorg?

You are still registered. A planner calls you within one working day to find a solution with you: a colleague from another team, the flexible pool or a partner organisation.

How many hours of care will I get?

By law between 24 and 80 hours. Your midwife and the kraamzorg team decide together with you; it can still change during the kraamweek.

Can you give me medical advice?

No. With contractions, blood loss, feeling less movement or any worry, always call your own midwife first, day or night. In a life-threatening emergency 112.

Do you speak other languages?

Many kraamverzorgenden speak English, and some speak Turkish, Arabic or Polish. Give your preference when you register; we arrange an interpreter if needed.

Not satisfied? Tell us

We want to know, during the kraamweek too. This is how it works under the Dutch healthcare quality, complaints and disputes act (Wkkgz):

  1. First talk to your kraamverzorgende or the planner. It is often solved quickly that way.
  2. If that does not work, our independent complaints officer helps you, free of charge. Email hallo@kraamzorgvlietnest.nl with the subject “complaint”.
  3. If we cannot resolve it together, you can go to a recognised, independent disputes committee. Its ruling is binding.

Fictional organisation: the complaints officer and disputes committee are not real here.

Privacy

Your due date is health information. We handle it carefully:

  • On this example website your date stays in this browser tab only. Close the tab and it is gone.
  • We only ask the four digits of your postcode, not your address.
  • A real registration asks for your explicit consent and only what is needed for your care.
  • The question assistant and the AI translation never receive your date or other details. Phone numbers and dates are blocked before sending.
