Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a specialisation within physiotherapy. The manual therapist examines how your joints move and treats them by hand. Then you learn exercises to keep that movement.

A therapist examines the knee of a man lying on a treatment table

How it works

  1. Targeted assessment

The manual therapist tests how your joints move and explains what she finds.

  2. Hands-on treatment

Calm, targeted techniques improve movement. You always say what feels right.

  3. Exercises to keep it

You get a few short exercises so the movement lasts.

Who it is for

  • Your neck or back feels stiff or locked
  • Turning your head or bending over is difficult
  • You want to know where your movement is limited
