While you wait
You do not have to wait alone
A waiting list is not a standstill. This is what you can do now, and what we do.

What you can do now
Your GP and the POH-ggz
The mental health practice nurse at your GP can support you with a few conversations while you wait. Ask your GP practice.
Waiting-list mediation
Your health insurer must help you get care in time. Call your insurer’s care mediation service (the number is on your insurance card or in the app) and ask whether a place is available sooner elsewhere.
Doing something yourself
You can find reliable information and exercises on these sites. They do not replace treatment, but they help many people through the wait.
Every four weeks from us
While you wait, we get in touch every four weeks, by phone or email. We tell you how long it is likely to take and ask how you are doing.
If it gets harder
Then do not wait for your turn
Getting worse? Call your GP, even if you are on our waiting list. We do not reorder the waiting list based on a phone call, but your GP can consult with us.

You are talking to an AI assistant. Not a person, and not a clinician. It only answers from the practice’s own texts.

Questions about waiting
Can I lose my place on the waiting list?
No, not just like that. If you do not respond to our check-in twice, we call you once more before changing anything.
May I look for help elsewhere in the meantime?
Yes. Let us know if you start elsewhere, so your place can go to someone else. Your insurer helps with waiting-list mediation.
What if I move or switch insurer?
Tell the front office. With a different insurer we check together whether your cover changes.
Go to the cover guideCan I choose a clinician?
You may state a preference, for example for a man or a woman, or someone who speaks English or Arabic. We take it into account; sometimes it means a longer wait.
