Questions
Answers to your questions, even at ten at night
Read the frequently asked questions, or ask our question assistant. It only answers using information from this website and says so honestly when it does not know. Then it passes your question on to a colleague.
Getting started
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. For community nursing and personal care you can contact us yourself. Our community nurse will work out with you which care is needed.
How soon will I hear back after my request?
The coordinator of your neighbourhood team calls you within one working day, at the time you chose. The first visit at your home is usually within five working days.
Can I request care for my father or mother?
Yes. Choose "a relative or someone close to me" in the form. We will call you first, and then we would also like to speak with your relative.
What if I need care today?
Then call 0123 45 67 00 straight away. That number is answered day and night. In a life-threatening situation, always call 112.
Costs and funding
What does community nursing cost?
Community nursing is covered by basic health insurance, with no excess to pay.
Who pays for household help?
Usually the municipality of Vlietstad, through the Wmo. The municipality decides how much help you get and may ask for a personal contribution.
Can you tell me whether I am entitled to care?
Not on the website: it depends on your situation. For community nursing our community nurse decides with you, for the Wmo it is the municipality, and for the Wlz an independent national body.
Care at home
Will I see the same people each time?
As far as possible, yes. We work in small teams per neighbourhood, so you get to know a few familiar faces.
Can my family be involved in decisions about care?
We would welcome it. Your family or carer is welcome at the first visit and at care-plan meetings, if you would like them there.
I can no longer open the door myself. What now?
Then we will discuss a key safe by the front door. Only the colleagues who visit you know the code.
Rather talk to someone?
Call 0123 45 67 00. Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
